Abstract
This report aims to point out an approach to long-term systemsintegration and Enterprise Architeture for Gassco AS. Such a transformation cannot be doneusing a ``big-bang'' approach, but must be deployed incrementally with thesupport of the entire organisation. The IT portfolio is often a good placeto start, migrating monolithic legacy systems to new technology enablinginteroperability across platforms and vendors. Web services, Service-OrientedArchitecture, OPC and Enterprise Application Integration are technologies thatcan help enable seamless integration and promote interoperability and vendor independence. The use of such technology, enabling the slow tranformation of the IT portfolio and planningahead for a unified IT architecture is the focus of this master thesis.
