In June mackerel taggings were carried out south and west of Ireland. In total 8 214 mackerel were tagged. More than 71% were released within the area between ca. 50º50` N to 51º00` N and ca. I0°00` W to I0°15` W. Only mackerel longer than 30 cm were tagged. Individual length measurements of the tagged fish were taken. From ultimo June to primo July blue whiting investigations were carried out off the Hebrides, the Faeroe Islands, Iceland and in the northern part of the Norwegian Channel. Good or fishable concentrations of blue whiting were not recorded. Mostly very scattered echo recordings were obtained. Three trawl stations were taken.
